  • Nancye Blair Black

    Nancye Blair Black

    Nancye Blair Black is Founder/CEO of the educational consulting firm, The Block Uncarved. Nancye brings her own brand of “dignity-driven” approaches to systemic education reform, while focusing on equitable education; innovative implementations of leading-edge technologies; and strategies that empower educators, leaders, and students to achieve their greatest potential. In her work with ISTE, Nancye’s accomplishments include instructional design and facilitation of the ISTE Certification for Educators training; founding the 3D Professional Learning Network; advancing international work in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Latin America; serving as Verizon Mobile Learning Academy Faculty Lead; and advocating through EdTech Advocacy and Policy Summits. She currently serves as Project Lead for the ISTE-GM AI Explorations professional learning program and recently authored ISTE’s Hands-On AI Projects for the Classroom eBook series. Beyond ISTE, Nancye was an award-winning teacher and technology specialist; President of the Florida ISTE affiliate, FSTE; a founding leader of EdCampPolk; and a school board member for the first Montessori-accredited public schools serving PreK3-Grade 8 in the U.S. As Director of Innovation and Design for Project STEM, Nancye has been instrumental in the development of nationally-implemented computer science curricula and professional development. She is also a popular conference presenter and keynote speaker, author of books and articles, and consultant for various educational organizations and institutions. She is completing her doctoral degree in Instructional Technology at Teachers College Columbia University, where she serves as a leader for the Games Research Lab and was recognized as an Edtech Innovation Award finalist in 2020.

  • Michael Furdyk

    Michael Furdyk

    Michael Furdyk is the Co-founder of TakingITGlobal (www.tigweb.org), which designs and delivers social innovation and education programs that empower youth to understand and act on local and global challenges. The Connected North program serves 25,000 students in remote Indigenous communities, and #RisingYouth has awarded over 6,000 grants for youth-led community impact. TIG was awarded the Intercultural Innovation Award by BMW and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, and the Tech Museum Award for Innovation in Education. Michael has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, presented at TED, and was named one of Teen People's "Twenty Teens that will Change the World". He has keynoted over 100 events across sectors, sharing his social media expertise and insights on youth engagement and innovation in education to audiences in over 30 countries. He completed his Master of Design (MDes) in Inclusive Design at OCAD University and has served as Adjunct Professor for the Master of Education Technology program at Long Island University.

  • Ken Shelton

    Ken Shelton

    Ken (he/him/his) currently holds an M.A. in Education with a specialization in Educational Technology as well as New Media Design and Production. He has worked as an Educator for over 20 years and spent most of his classroom experience teaching technology at the Middle School level. As a part of his active involvement within the Educational Technology community, Ken is an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and a Google Certified Innovator. Ken has worked extensively at the policy level with a number of State Departments of Education, Ministries of Education, non-Profits, and was appointed to the Education Technology Task Force formed by a previous California State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Ken regularly gives keynotes, presentations, consults, and leads workshops, covering a wide variety of Educational Technology, Equity and Inclusion, Anti-Bias/Anti-Racist, Multimedia Literacy, Cultural Intelligences, Visual Storytelling, and Instructional Design topics. Ken is the ISTE Digital Equity PLN 2018 Excellence Award winner. Due to his extensive and broad impact Ken has also been named by EdTech Magazine as an influencer to follow.
